At Park Side, all students get music class once a week. TK and Kindergarten is all about play and having fun with music. They sing songs, dance, play games, play rhythm instruments and play music games. First and second graders also play with music, but in addition, they start to learn reading rhythmic notation, keeping a steady beat, and listening to how they fit with everyone making music together. In third grade, students continue everything from second grade and they begin playing ukulele. In fourth grade, students continue to play the ukulele and they also learn recorder to prepare them for playing brass and woodwind instruments in the 5th grade. 

There is an after school choir club that meets for 2 months each year that is available to second through fourth graders. 

All music classes learn and record songs for the annual winter light show which happens each December.
