About Miss Jewel
The students know me as Miss Jewel. Growing up in Sebastopol, I remember Brook Haven being surrounded by fields. I have two daughters and a two-year-old grandson. After studying horticulture at Cal Poly, SLO, I was a golf course groundskeeper before becoming a professional artist. I came to Park Side as a Rainbow House Aide, then transitioned to Garden Coordinator and Child Aide. I am now looking forward to being the District Librarian.
I love seeing the "light bulb" moment in children and all the funny things that happen in even one day!
I have many interests; gardening, pickleball, West Coast Swing dancing and just making all kinds of things. There are many dishes I love: shrimp and grits in Portland, dim sum on Clement in SF, the local breakfast at McDonald's in Manoa, Oahu, and anything my boyfriend makes!
