Resource Specialist Program (RSP)

Resource Specialist Program (RSP) is a program designed to help children who qualify for special education services. RSP supports children who have mild to moderate disabilities by teaching effective, individualized learning strategies and supplementing curriculum with resources and tools to help students be more successful in the general education classroom.

Park Side's program consists of push-in and pull-out learning models. The push-in model provides instruction and support inside the general education classroom. The pull-out model offers instruction in a smaller setting, outside the general education classroom. RSP students are pulled out of their general education classrooms to receive small group interventions and support at their academic levels.

The RSP program has a full time instructional assistant who is trained to support students with learning differences. The RSP team works closely together with general education teachers and other support staff to ensure all students receive the help needed to fully access the general education curriculum.
