About Ms. Birnbaum

Hello! My name is Saivya Birnbaum. I am the Sebastopol Union School District Garden and Sustainability Coordinator. I am a Sebastopol native and attended Park Side and Brook Haven schools.

 

I have a background in art and design. I bring my love of beauty, cooking, apothecary, and the natural world to my garden program. Teaching students how to grow and cook their own food is a highlight of garden class for me. I also enjoy practicing mindfulness with the students as it relates to gardening and life.

 

I live in Sebastopol with my husband, our wonderful children, and our fluffy cat. In my free time, I like to garden, cook, go camping, do arts and crafts, travel, and spend time with friends and family.
